Marie Flannery recently joined THFC as President/CEO in October 2018. Prior to that time she was with Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board (IFHMB), located in Southern California, since 2012, serving as IFHMB’s President/CEO since July 2016. Marie has over 16 years of mortgage lending and real estate experience, as she served for 10 years as a foreclosure attorney to large and small financial institutions, including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, US Bank, and Ocwen, to name a few. Over the course of her tenure at IFHMB, Marie successfully managed a total of six FHIP grants: two multi-year PEI grants, three FHOI grants, and one EOI grant; the agency consistently received ‘excellent’ performance ratings from HUD. Marie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, and received her juris doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 2002. She has attended many fair housing trainings, from HUD, the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA), the National Fair Housing Training Academy (NFHTA), and John Marshall Law School, to name a few. Marie was one of a team of individuals selected by HUD in 2016 to deliver training to program participants across the country on the 2015 Final Rule on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH). She has also worked with jurisdictions on preparing Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice documents, and other fair housing activities, including community outreach and engagement, education, and enforcement.
